Cat Town is a nonprofit rescue and adoption center in downtown Oakland, CA. Rebecca designed the new cat-condo zone, converting what was previously a cluttered utility zone into a delightful space where visitors enjoy spending one-on-one time with less social cats looking for new homes.
The new design increases the number of cats accommodated, and with individually ventilated cat condos, also improves the environmental health of all. We applied the language of urban-influenced massing and a lively Oakland-inspired palette to create a habitat both nurturing to cats and inviting to their visitors.
